Guest Comic – Who Watches the Inkdick?

ORIGINAL COMIC

This comic is entirely by Swiftya from Forumopolis!

Inkdick is a journal comic which is, in all honesty, kinda dull. Pranas has developed an art style that works for him, it’s pleasantly cartoony and it seems like he gets the essence of the people he’s drawing (obviously not  knowing them, I can’t be sure). It’s just what he chooses to document often lacks anything interesting for outsiders and he often picks moments or subjects that make him come off as very whiny.

He seems to be missing what has made other journal-type comics, like the seminal American Splendor, work which is interesting/witty insights or additions which enhance the sequence, be they comedic or dramatic. I would suggest that he could improve by working with a writer, either to create entirely new material or to buff up Pranas’ ideas.

Hiatus Over

June 7th, 2010

That was quite a gap! I got busy and, honestly, couldn’t be arsed to read so many comics trying to find funny ideas. Finally, after over a year I’m back feeling like I can do some regular work for this site and the world of webcomics. So welcome back! I thought a Questionable Content edit would be a good start, it’s been good to me while making this.

Announcement

May 10th, 2009

Reconstructing Comics is going on a semi-hiatus. I feel that my jokes recently have been too obvious and derivative; I’m also not enjoying making it all that much at the moment. So I’m dropping updating weekly and instead I’ll be making new ones as ideas come to me rather than dragging myself through the webcomic muck forcing ideas out.

Though remember, you may have to check the site for updates more often than you want but I have no ads and no income from it (unlike VGcats or Dresden Codak) so I will gain nothing from any fruitless visits you may have to make.
