Linked in order of appearance above. Each of the the original shirts is terrible in their own way. The PVP shirt shows a delusional view of the importance of webcomics. The QC shirt is a stupid, hand-written typo that could be reproduced at home with a marker pen but instead people pay $17 to own it. The XKCD shirt is horribly drawn and the typeface is ugly beyond words, I can’t imagine why anyone would look at that and choose to wear it. Finally the Dresden Codak shirt is another example of his “People who like sports are dumb” attitude that has appeared in the main comic a few times.

All pretty bad, all expensive and all raking in the money for the creators. I wouldn’t have a problem with them if the shirts were better though, come on guys, take your shirts to the next level! Hire a graphic designer or something, those guys really know their stuff.

This has no original but rather felt like an event that was long overdue in the QC world. A little QC history for those who haven’t read it, Faye is fat and her dad killed himself in front of her when she was younger.

Something that has always bugged me about Questionable Content is the whole “Faye is Fat!” thing where she was drawn with basically the same body type as EVERYONE ELSE and so I have tried to rectify that and give everyone some perspective on how she should look.

Oddly I’m far from the first person to go for this angle on Faye’s issues; Chris Hastings, of the great Dr Mcninja comic, did two guest strips on the subject that were pretty hilarious. In that regard I have to praise Jeph Jacques for having a sense of humour about his creations, a lot of webcomic authors would get very offended at such a take on it, but he didn’t. God knows how he’d react to this, I may have gone too far even for my own low-set bar.

Last week’s hilarious CAD miscarriage comic felt like an easy target, and I actually did intend to do an edit of it but I was beaten to the punch by pretty much everyone on the internet. I didn’t feel like adding another one to the pile when many good ones had already been done. I’m sure CAD will provide enough hilarious material in the DRAMATIC FALLOUT of this storyline for me to have at least one edit at some point.

If you want to see someone who really went for it, check out the Bigger than Cheeses archives: http://www.biggercheese.com/index.php?comic=749

At least she looks the part. That audience will LOVE her.
It’s Hannelore, everyone’s favourite OCD stereotype who lived in space or some shit! Her character is… the same as everyone else, sarcastic and attempting to be witty, but she worries about things more and cleans up.
